Forged Steel Shafts

Special Steel Forge can deliver forged steel shafts up to 8,000 lbs. Our steel forging lead times are the best in the industry, often 2-3 times faster than our larger competitors. As a smaller forging facility, we have greater flexibility in our production, which helps make these fast turnarounds possible. And, thanks to forged steel's superior characteristics, the shafts we create are of far higher quality than shafts machined from bar stock.

We create our forged steel shafts from sound-center billet, which offers greater strength, ductility and resistance to fatigue than bar stock. Because we start with a better quality base material, our customers receive better quality steel forgings. Special Steel Forge has the inventory and the capabilities to create forged steel shafts at our maximum size capacities in 1045, 4140, 4150, and 4340 carbon & alloy steel. We can forge steel shafts in smaller sizes in any of the over 200 materials we work with, including multiple grades of stainless steel.
